House of Fountains

Merida, Mexico

Originally built in 1870, this French-style townhouse carries a layered and storied past. Discovered in a state of vacancy, the property underwent a meticulous restoration that honored its historic character while reimagining it for contemporary living. The architectural revival centered on enhancing the al fresco experience across three open courtyards, reinforcing the home’s relationship between structure, light, and landscape.

Seamlessly integrating state-of-the-art technology within its old-world framework, the residence balances heritage with modern functionality. Acclaimed locally and internationally as the “House of Fountains,” it was recognized as Historical Restoration of the Year by Architectural Digest Mexico, securing its place as a defining work within the studio’s portfolio.
